Details At A Glance
The parade of specially decorated bathtubs will begin making its way down the Main Street at 11 a.m. At the same time, in River Mill Park the children’s Art Splash event gets underway. It runs from 10am to 1pm.
The first of three Bathtub Derby heats begins at noon with bathtubs furiously racing through obstacles on the Muskoka River as they make their way to the finish line. Between races entertainment will be provided by the fly guy, showing you just how crazy it can get on the water.
Also throughout the day raffle tickets will be available for a chance to win a NyDock floating picnic table with additional prizes from The Hunt House and East Side Marios.
Why A Bathtub Derby?
In 2013 the Rotary Club of Huntsville resurrected the original Bathtub Derby from the 1990’s under the name Rotary DockFest. Thousands of people attended the event in 2013 and a decision was made to turn Rotary DockFest into an annual event with proceeds alternating between local charities each year.
Funds raised this year will go to support the Rotary Club’s commitment to support the installation of an inclusive playground at Huntsville Public School. Other funds will be used for local projects/groups in need, throughout the community.
